Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting for a Quality Control Engineer IV in Las Vegas, NV.

Quality Control Engineer IV is responsible for leadership and demonstrated commitment to the achievement of quality performance and improvement. Ensures that the company adheres to government requirements and regulations with an emphasis on quality and safety. Must possess supervisory capabilities and be able to evaluate the implementation of quality processes, procedures, and programs. The Quality Control Engineer IV works to perform assessments of work activities and identify process improvements.

  • Participates in management team activities to build strong management systems to support all aspects of assigned projects/programs.

  • Expert knowledge and ability to develop and apply highly advanced principles, concepts and techniques in quality assurance, environmental audit and surveillance, budgetary functions and management systems.

  • Skill and ability to perform critical strategic tasks and to interpret broad strategic requirements and develop and execute plans to satisfy them.

  • Ability to have major impact on organizational success and productivity, with extensive latitude for independent judgment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively at the highest levels.

  • Acts as a content expert and/or internal consultant applying leadership and functional expertise for the area of designated responsibility.

  • Plan, organize and assign skill specific work to staff or people performing similar or related functions. May set goals and determine individual training and coaching needs.

  • May have direct reports. May provide feedback to others on individual deliverables.

  • May be assigned to project teams.

  • Leads and performs assessments in the areas of field operations, waste management, and program support functions to verify QA program implementation and compliance with procedures and regulations.

  • Leads and performs supplier evaluations.

  • Assists in administration of non-conformance and corrective action reporting system.

  • Coordinates with environmental, safety and health functions in achieving integrated management, environmental management and performance assurance systems.

  • Reviews plans, procedures, design documents, procurement documents and management reports to ensure QA program elements are included when needed.

  • Serves as QA interface on complex issues.


  • BS degree or equivalent in science, engineering, or appropriate related field. Advanced degree preferred.

  • The candidate should be an experienced professional with a minimum of 15 years’ quality assurance/performance assurance experience.

  • Expertise should include quality program development and maintenance, , process/quality improvement, assessment/surveillance performance, corrective action programs, and quality performance measures and metrics.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and basic computer skills.

  • Certified lead assessor/auditor, or ability to achieve certification.

  • Knowledge of DOE O 414.1 and/or NQA-1 quality program requirements.

  • Five years’ experience working in an industrial/nuclear complex.

  • Five years supervisory experience.

  • Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.
