The Integration Engineer I position is an integral member of the capital improvement integration efforts.
The Integration Engineer should have a through understanding of both wired and wireless technologies and be able to provide solutions for the installation of new network assets within new construction as well as Wireless Local Area Network upgrades. The Integration Engineer acts as project coordinator, technical advisor and overall project quality control facilitator during the entire network integration lifecycle. The Integration Engineer I works with the planning and low voltage design and construction group to evaluate and sign off on new technologies, feasibility of solutions and acts as the quality assurance before, during and after each project. The Integration Engineer will normally be promoted from within the existing Network Engineering or Integrations groups and will demonstrate both technical and soft skill competencies. Successful candidates should have either extensive prior experience within the existing infrastructure of the schools and administrative buildings of the Clark County School District or possess enough prior experience in similar environments to be able to quickly adapt to the WAN, LAN and wireless environments. Knowledge and contributions within all facets of network fundamentals including mature skills in documentation of pre-existing environments, validation of in place network infrastructure, network routing and switching, cabling infrastructures including Category 5 and 6 copper (CAT5e/CAT6/6A) as well as single and multi-mode fiber optics and related productions and applicability of industry standard protocols. The Integration Engineer will work directly with Survey and Validation leadership, Production Support and configuration leadership and participate and support as many as 4 technology deployment teams at one time. The Integration Engineer I should possess both work experience and academic certifications or degrees to be successful. The career path of the Integration Engineer I can lead to group leadership within Integrations or a lateral progression into Solution Architect or Network Engineering positions.
Provide technical oversight and vetting of site network surveys.
Provide guidance and assistance on standard and non-standard network asset configurations.
Serve as first level of escalation to the Integrations deployment teams.
Facilitate design and implementation of Engineering standards.
Execute pre-deployment site visits and be the Point of Control (POC) and communication with site administrators.
Participate as primary interface to Network Planning group for new construction and building enhancements.
Address site issues post deployment efforts as day-after one-stop-resolution.
Update departmental project trackers and metrics.
Direct engagement with Network Engineering for application of new firmware, configuration settings, templates and maintenance of all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and process checklist, and other operating guidelines.
Updating and review of wireless topology maps and Network Operating Center (NOC) monitoring applications, including pre and post equipment monitoring integrity.
Adding and validating newly installed equipment to NOC monitored inventory.
Participate in both tactical and strategic planning, including operational efficiencies and Quality Assurance (QA) integration throughout the lifecycle of all network assets.

High school diploma or equivalent required. 2 year degree, 4 year degree, networking vocational or degreed education preferred. Prior military service a plus.
Three years of related experience in the maintenance, installation, configuration, upgrades of network hardware with emphasis on local area networks. Must possess a strong background with commercial networking infrastructures and related network cabling and equipment. Must also show experience in knowledge of the OSI model, routing and switching and subnet architectures. Strong preference towards prior experience on large-scale IT deployments. Project management skills a plus.
